First Day of School 2010

When I signed up for the Hillshire Farm Sandwich Showdown at Blogher I never imagined I would make it to the Semi-Final round but I did! It’s round 3 and I’m up against Renae @madamedeals Liz @lizzydear and Lisa @crazyadventures, some really tough competition! Only 2 of us will make it to the final round. My nerves are shot lol.

My recipe this time was one someone gave me at breakfast the morning before when we were on the Kodak Bus Tour.

While I was in NYC for Blogher I was asked to participate in the Hillshire Farms Sandwich Showdown and I had the best time! I love cooking competition shows and have always wanted to do something like that and this was my chance.
The showdown consisted of several rounds in which we had 2 minutes to create a sandwich with Hillshire Farm Deli Select lunch meats and then we were judged by some pretty tough kids and Padma Lakshmi from Top Chef.

Family game night ~ some of our favorite games are Blokus, Yatzee and Apples to Apples.
Swimming ~ we are a family of fish and whenever we can we goto the pool. I wish it was warm year round in PA
Movie night ~ make a huge bowl of buttery popcorn and pop in a DVD that everyone likes.

This week’s theme at i heart faces is “Beach Fun” and I had such a hard time choosing my photo! I love the beach and when we go I take a TON of pictures! My kids dread the “photo shoot” portion of our beach vacations.
Anyone who has ever tried to take photos of your kids at the beach knows what I am talking about! You wouldn’t think it would be so hard to get JUST ONE PHOTO of your kids, but it is! I usually resort to begging and crying that all I want is...
