Some of you may have noticed the Beauty Tip Widget on my sidebar sponsored by Unilever. As part of the posting campaign they asked me to post a few of my own beauty tips. Here are just a few random tips I use and thought I would share with you.
- When you dye your hair always work with unwashed hair. The natural oils that build up over a day help with the color application.
- Keep your nail polish smooth by storing it in the refrigerator
- Use cooking spray to dry your nail polish quickly
- Need some quick lip gloss? Mix your favorite lipstick with Vaseline.
- Make your lipstick last longer by first applying lipstick, then a layer of pressed powder, followed by another layer of lipstick
- Powder on your lashes will also help mascara stay longer and flake less.
- The best moisturizer for any rough spots is Vaseline, elbows, lips, feet, fingers, you name it, Vaseline will soothe it! And did you know it also removes eye makeup. ( I am not kissing Unilever’s butt here, I really do love Vaseline!)

Great tip about cooking spray for nailpolish…I never knew that. One tip is to research beauty product before buying. Many name brand products are actually the exact same thing as drug store items (some are even made in the same factories)!
Ahhh great tips.
I am a complete rebel when it comes to beauty stuff.
I march to my own drum usually.
I like to use Aveeno face wipes (they have the little scratchy bumps)anytime I have a few zits……as a little scrubby.
Then I rinse with water as these tend to be soapy/sudsy.
Never fails….blemishes disappear!
I recommend every woman over 18 use Oil of Olay (pink lotion). I’ve used it since I was 19 and I still look young!
Use Q-Tips to correct mistakes when applying makeup – mascara under your eye, lip liner gone awry, even lipstick outside of your mouth line!
