Wow where do I start, when I signed up to go to BlogHer many many months ago, I had no idea what a huge deal it was, I just wanted to go to a conference, see my friends, learn about blogging and make some new contacts. As BlogHer drew closer I realized it was one of the biggest conferences for women bloggers and of course I became really excited! I did everything I wanted to do when I first signed up and them some! I am going to break my BlogHer experience into a few posts so I don’t bore you to death all at once!

I decided to take the frugal route from the airport to the hotel so I took the train, it was a $2.25 ride and it was quite an adventure! I don’t use public transportation, ever, so it was very interesting to “people watch” on the train.  I also kept thinking about “ER” and all the episodes they filmed when someone was using the train, it was kinda cool!  Once I reached my destination, I hauled my luggage on to the platform and headed out into the city.  The train started out above ground and once we got into the city it went underground.  Trying to get through the turnstile with my bags was next to impossible, I can only imagine what onlookers were thinking! Funny thing though, no one offered to help me?  After I finally got through, I faced 3 LARGE flights of steps to get above ground with my over 50 lbs of luggage in tow, can I just say I am REALLY out of shape!  Hailed a cab that cost $5 with tip and arrived at the Sheraton to look for Beth @plussizemommy.

Once I tracked down Beth,  we set out on the streets of Chicago to find McDonald’s for lunch! Here are some of the photos of Chicago I took while we walked.
