I have always thought Build-A-Bear Workshop was cool, but after meeting Maxine Clark at the Disney Social Media Moms Conference in February, I gained a whole new appreciation for the company. Hearing Maxine’s vision for the company she wanted to create was an amazing story. Hearing about all the community outreach and support her company provides was uplifting. As she spoke about children she had met throughout the years, employees that worked for her, she knew everyone of them by name, she isn’t just a business owner, she is a friend. She is an amazing woman. If you ever have a chance to talk to her, don’t pass it up.
While we were eating lunch that day, I asked Maxine about having a get together in Pittsburgh so I could introduce some of my local bloggy friends to her amazing company. I was thrilled when she agreed!
So, back in June Build-A-Bear Workshop invited a few Pittsburgh bloggers to their store in Ross Park Mall to experience the magic and fun of a Build A Bear get together. The manager Robert was so nice and our party host Lauren was so great with the kids. It really is amazing to see the joy that a teddy bear brings to a child. Here is a slide show of our visit to Build A Bear. Enjoy!
