The View ~ What’s on This Week

March 7, 2010 by CraftyMama
Filed under Where The Fun's At

In case you missed last week, make sure you go check out Robert Pattinson, this episode is my pick for favorite of last week.  Barbara compared him go James Dean (swoon).  And how hot is that Details magazine spread (fainting)! When asked if he would date an older woman, his reply was that Betty White is one of the sexiest women in America.  Did you know he brought his whole family with him? How cool is that!

Coming up this week!

Monday ~ We’re talking Oscars® — everything from the dresses to the hosts! Vanessa Williams sits in as guest co-host, and we’ll video chat with Sherri live from Hollywood!  (The girls from the #KodakRedCarpet saw Sherri!)

Tuesday ~ Andy Garcia and his daughter, Dominik Garcia-Lorido, join the co-hosts to discuss their new film City Island.

Wednesday ~ Oscar® winner Forest Whitaker talks about his film Our Family Wedding, and Jesse Ventura discusses his new book American Conspiracies.

Thursday ~ Special guest Sir Elton John sits down with the ladies for Hot Topics! Plus, Eric McCormack chats about his TV movie Who is Clark Rockefeller? (I think this is gonna be a good one! Elton John on Hot Topics! And I love, love, love Eric McCormack)

Friday ~ It’s “Fashion Friday” with designer Carolina Herrera. See her designs and hear about her inspirations.

Make sure you tune in for another great week!

Get ready for another exciting week on The View!

Monday

Hot Topics! I love when they devote an entire show to Hot Topics, I can’t wait to hear what they have to say.

Tuesday

OMG Robert Pattinson is coming to The View.  I love his accent, and his hair, and his eyes and wow, everything (swoon)

Of course you know Robert as sultry, brooding vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight saga. Robert (aka “RPattz”) is a 23-year-old English actor, singer/musician, and model who was first introduced to movie audiences as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.Later, his starring role in Twilight catapulted him to instant stardom. The highly anticipated third installment, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will be released later this year. Robert, who composes his own music, sings two of the songs on the Twilight soundtrack: “Never Think” and “Let Me Sign.”

I had no idea he sang on the Twilight Soundtrack!

Wednesday

Lisa Kudrow will be on the show to talk about her new show Who Do You Think You Are?

Thursday

Valerie Bertinelli co-hosts as Mia Wasikowska from Alice in Wonderland and Abigail Breslin visit the show.

Friday

Today the ladies will be talking about Oscar Fashion and Wesley Snipes and Don Cheadle drop by.

Stay tuned to my blog for updates, inside scoop and news straight  from ABC Daytime and The View.

Blissdom 10

I just got back from my longest road trip as a blogger and I am exhausted and exhilarated!  My journey began last Thursday when I departed for Nashville to attend Blissdom.

I was so excited to go back to the place where it all began for me, Blissdom.  Blissdom is where  I met my bloggy friends in real life for the first time just 3 short months into blogging.  Although I have seen these fantastic women throughout the last year at other events, attending Blissdom was like coming back home and having a big family reunion.  Barbara, Allie and Paula really know how to throw a party!  The keynotes, the wisdom workshops, the sessions, the parties, and of course all of the fantastic sponsors were all very top notch and well planned out.  I have decided to tell my story with photos rather than a ton of words, I hope you enjoy it.

On Thursday there were a series of specialized Wisdom Workshops available and I decided to take the Photography workshop.  It was conducted by Dawn Camp, Mishelle Lane, Angie Arthur, and Deanna Garretson .  I learned a good bit from these fabulous ladies about using my camera more effectively, I could have stayed in this session all day!

Thursday night there was a great welcome reception at the Jack Daniels Salon in the hotel.  I didn’t take any photos there, not sure why, I guess I was too busy catching up with everyone!

On The Road (Sky) Again

I have always enjoyed traveling but never really got to do much of it.  We would goto the beach each summer and that was about as far as I would get.  I have always  wanted to travel more and since I have started blogging my wish has come true.  Over the last year I have been fortunate enough to visit the following places

Nashville, TN ~ my first blogging conference  Blissdom! It was so exciting to meet all of my Twitter friends and form new friendships that have continued to blossom.  The wealth of information was so overwhelming for a newbie, but without it I don’t know where I would be today.

Austin, TX ~ SXSW Interactive, what an experience this was! Felt like a lost fish in the sea but made some FANTASTIC friends and connections.

Chicago, IL ~ Blogher! What a great time, so many faces, so little time. And who could forget BowlHer! BEST party EVER!

Giant Eagle Market District

December 14, 2009 by CraftyMama

I was fortunate enough to be invited to a special social media VIP visit to the new Giant Eagle Market District store in Robinson Township, PA a few weeks ago.  The new store is AMAZING! I wish I lived closer so I could go there more often.

Looking for ethnic or organic foods? They’ve got them.  Looking for a quick dinner or lunch and a nice place to sit and eat it with free wifi? They’ve got that.  Looking for hand dipped chocolate or home made gelattio? They’ve got it.  Looking for a certified nutritionist to help you make supplement selections? They have them on staff.  Looking for a specialty cheese?  They have more cheese than I have ever seen in my life! Looking for great prices on your everyday food purchases? They have those too!  These are just a few of the great things you can find at the Giant Eagle Market District.

I took some great pictures while I was there, I will let them tell you the story :)  Thanks Giant Eagle, I had a fantastic time.

Join Me on Black Friday with #BFDeals!

I go shopping every year on Black Friday, its been a tradition for me for about 14 years now and I love it.  The excitement of the deals, the rush of all the people, the hot chocolate at 3 am, you just can’t beat it.  I normally hate to wait in lines but for some reason on Black Friday it really doesn’t matter, all that matters is having fun, spending money and shopping till we drop!

I am so excited to be a part of a new website created by Collective Bias called mybfdeals.com.  Here is the press release about the project:

November 25, 2009 – Bentonville, AR – Collective Bias, an interactive marketing firm that connects brands with shoppers at the store shelf by facilitating conversation and building relationships, has partnered with Whrrl, a location based mobile application that lets people capture and share the stories of their lives one moment at a time, to create a unique platform that helps shoppers find the best deals on Black Friday.

Twenty bloggers, led by well-known mom bloggers Melissa Garcia, the “money-saving” Consumer Queen, and Courtney Velasquez of Giftfully Simple, will hit stores on Black Friday and upload photos and tips through Whrrl to My Black Friday Deals.

Little Debbie Share A Thon In Pittsburgh

November 16, 2009 by CraftyMama
Filed under Reviews & Giveaways, Where The Fun's At

I was fortunate enough last week to participate in the Little Debbie Share A Thon as it made its way through Pittsburgh.  I spent the morning standing on street corners downtown passing out Little Debbie Chocolate Cupcakes and smiles.  It is amazing how a free cupcake brings out the smiles in people, even the ones with their ties tied too tight!

The funnest thing someone said to me when I tried to give him a cupcake was “No thanks, I don’t have time to eat” and he kept walking.  I stood there pondering what he said and thinking to myself, if you have time to walk you can eat while you walk can’t you? Who doesn’t need a little chocolate break in their life? Before I finished my thought he had come back and said “maybe I could make some time today for some chocolate.”  Too funny
