Mary Poppins is a musical I have wanted to see for a long time, almost 3 years ago I took my Daughter to NYC for her 13th birthday and this is what I wanted to see..she vetoed my decision since it was her birthday and instead choose American Idiot (which we loved and are VERY excited to see it come to Pittsburgh in February 2013 , although it was a bit risqué for a 13 year old). In 2011 Mary made her rounds into Pittsburgh and I missed it….. Finally this past August when I was in NYC for the Blogher Conference, my Mary Poppins dream came true. Mel and I had a free night so after loosing the Wicked ticket lottery (my all time favorite, which I did get to see again later that week!), we headed to the TKTS booth to see what we could get and Mary Poppins it was!
Of course I new what to expect in terms of the story line and the songs, I have been watching the movie and singing along for many years, what I wasn’t prepared for was one of the most amazing and magical sets I have ever seen in a show. Here is just a little sneak peak into the magic of Mary!
