Right before I went to BlogHer I was asked to participate in TJ Maxx and Marshalls Spring Spendervention.  I decided I needed to get some new clothes for BlogHer so I headed off to my local Marshall’s to see what I could find.

The thing I like about Marshall’s is that because they are a “buy out” type of store their choices are always changing so each time I go there is new and different stuff to choose from, they also have a really nice selection of plus size merchandise.

You will be shocked to know that I managed to leave there without buying a bag!  I did look but decided that I needed clothes more than I needed another bag, even though there were some GREAT bags there!  Here is what I did find

I love this purple top, it’s casual but also a bit dressy at the same time. Retail value $24.99 Marshalls price $16.99
The black capri pants are made from a nice summery fabric and went really well with the top. Retail value $24.99 Marshalls price $14.99.

I also got a cute causal outfit that consists of a light weight sleeveless sweater retail value $19.99 Marshalls price $9.99 and a pair of knee length plaid shorts retail value $22.99 Marshalls price $10.99. I didn’t end up wearing it while I was in Chicago, but can’t wait until I have the opportunity to wear it to my next casual party.

Another one of my favorite things to buy is pajamas, who doesn’t need a new pair of cute pj’s for a conference right? Well I got some and they are really comfy but a bit thin so I didn’t get a pic of myself in them but they were a great deal at Marshalls price of $9.99 retail value $19.99.

Finally I got a really sweet layette set for my new cousin Annie. It included a hat, socks, sleeping gown and a blanket all in a really cute tiny rose pattern, unfortunately I didn’t get a photo of it before I gave it to her retail price $22.99 Marshalls price (on clearance) $9.99.

Overall my experience at my local Marshalls was as it always is, clean store, nice employees, great selection and of course a great value. I am looking forward to visiting this fall for some great back to school stuff for the kids as well as during the holiday season. I love their selection of toys and gifts for the holidays. Whenever I have someone that is hard to shop for I can always find something at Marshall’s because of their unique selection of gift items.
