Colors of Spring

I have been looking at all the flowers and spring buds for the last week or so each time wishing I had my camera with me. Before you know it the colors will fade into summer and the beautiful birth of spring will be over. Today I had my camera and and extra half hour before I had to pick Bubba up from preschool, so on my way to pick him up, I stopped on the side of the road to capture the beauty of Spring. I hope you enjoy it as much is I do.

I was kinda limited on my choices this week because I am still on the road. Right now I am on a pit stop at my best friends house, traveling from Blissdom to Disney Social Media Moms Celebration. I only have access to a few folders of pictures that are actually on my laptop. As I was searching I came across this one and knew I had to use it.

My daughter is the oldest and first girl born into the extended family. Since she was born 8 boys have been born and she has remained the princess at court for 12 years. Last June my cousin gave birth to beautiful Annie and my daughter graduated to the queen lol. She was so happy to finally share her royalty with another princess. As many of you know we lost Annie shortly after she graced us with her presence so this is one of the very few photos I have of the 2 girls together and it warms my heart. I hope it warms yours as much as it does mine.

I Heart Faces ~ Week 4 Texture

I am so excited about my entry for this week! I’ve slowly been teaching myself Photoshop over the last few months and textures was not something I had learned about yet. I looked up a couple of tutorials and gave it a shot and this is what my finished product looks like

I Heart Faces ~ Week 43 Balloons

This weeks challenge is “balloons” I have so many great photos of balloons I had a hard time deciding which one to post.

This one was taken in April when we did a balloon release in honor Madeline Spohr. Months later we had a terrible loss in our own family and my 3 year old remembered this moment and wanted to do it again for Annie. It amazed me what a heart felt, profound efffect a balloon could have on a 3 year old.

i ♥ faces Week 42 ~ Halloween Dress Up

Its week 42 at i ♥ faces and the theme is Halloween Dress Up! I dug back a few years for this one and came up with a photo of my now 7 year old son when he was 3 1/2 dressed as a cowboy on a horse. He loved this costume, can’t you tell by the smile on his face?

iHeartFaces Weekly Photo Challenge

Since I love to share my photos, I am going to start participating in the weekly challenges at iHeartFaces. For those of you who may not of heard of iHeartFaces, it is a photo sharing photography site that has a lot of great information, great photos and is a lot of fun. When they first launched I participated a few times but then I got sidetracked and stopped doing it. Now that the kids are going back to school and things are calming down a bit here I decided to give it a try again. I hope you will check back each week to see my photos, maybe you even have some you would like to share on iHeartFaces too, I would love to see them.

This weeks photo challenge was to post a photo that was to find a photo that made us feel nostalgic. This photo of my son on the Kennywood merry-go-round is nostalgic for me because we have been going to Kennywood every year as a family since I was his age. It is so nice to continue the tradition with my kids.
