Mom’s Night Out is Coming to Pittsburgh

Hey Pittsburgh ladies! Does it drive you crazy when you see great things happening all around us but we never seem to get anything good in Pittsburgh? Well the wait is over! Thanks to Mom Select and Simon malls the second National Moms Night Out is coming to Ross Park Mall on Thursday May 6 from 6 – 9 pm. I hope to see you all there!
Here is a little bit more information from the organizers of the event.
On the Thursday before Mother’s Day, moms across America are taking a well-deserved break as part of the second annual National Mom’s Nite Out™. Ross Park Mall will play local host this nationally recognized celebration for motherhood and the pampering it deserves. The event will take place in Center Court at the mall from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2010.
Ross Park Mall will be “mom central” for mothers to come together for a great social networking opportunity. The event will feature live demonstrations, fun interactive activities, free prize giveaways, discounted shopping from participating retailers, entertainment, food sampling and more.
“We realize mom’s control between 85 and 90 percent of household spending, Ross Park Mall is excited to finally give them the recognition they deserve by hosting National Mom’s Nite Out™,” said director of mall marketing Mike Gianoutsos. “We value the commitment that moms provide daily and want to thank them with a well-deserved night off to socialize, relax and enjoy food, entertainment and shopping.”
The event is being orchestrated by Maria Bailey, Host of Mom Talk Radio and author of “The Ultimate Mom Book” (HCI, 2009), as well as top Mom Websites, Newbaby.com, BlueSuitMom.com, and MomSelect.com. National Mom’s Nite Out™ is timed just before the official Mother’s Day holiday; born out of the idea that most moms are busy taking care of other mothers on Mother’s Day. National Mom’s Nite Out™ gives all moms an excuse to take the night off.
“Building on last year’s success, National Mom’s Nite Out™ promises to be one of the largest cooperative efforts of Mommy groups, Mom-focused organizations and corporations, bloggers and vloggers– all coming together for one great night in support of motherhood,” said Bailey.
“We are thrilled that more than 80 Simon malls, located throughout the United States, are participating and encourage all moms to go and enjoy their planned celebrations.”
According to Bailey, last year’s inaugural event drew national attention as Twitter’s #3 “Trending Topic”, over 10 million media impressions through blogs, vlogs, websites and other social media outlets and 400 Mom Bloggers participating in over 1000 nationally-organized events.

Giant Eagle Market District

I was fortunate enough to be invited to a special social media VIP visit to the new Giant Eagle Market District store in Robinson Township, PA a few weeks ago. The new store is AMAZING! I wish I lived closer so I could go there more often.
Looking for ethnic or organic foods? They’ve got them. Looking for a quick dinner or lunch and a nice place to sit and eat it with free wifi? They’ve got that. Looking for hand dipped chocolate or home made gelattio? They’ve got it. Looking for a certified nutritionist to help you make supplement selections? They have them on staff. Looking for a specialty cheese? They have more cheese than I have ever seen in my life! Looking for great prices on your everyday food purchases? They have those too! These are just a few of the great things you can find at the Giant Eagle Market District.
I took some great pictures while I was there, I will let them tell you the story
Thanks Giant Eagle, I had a fantastic time.

Taylor Swift in Concert in Pittsburgh

A few weeks ago my 12 year old daughter and I went to see Taylor Swift in concert in Pittsburgh. I bought the tickets months ago when they went on sale and was fortunate enough to get them before they sold out!
The concert was fantastic, it was more that just a concert, it was a theatrical show and every minute made you want more and more. The arena was sold out, packed, and loved Taylor. At one point as she made her way back to the main stage through the crowd on the floor the audience went crazy and it turned into a 6 minute (my daughter timed it lol) standing ovation in the middle of the concert. Taylor was moved to tears by the outpouring from the crowd and it gave me goosebumps to think how amazing the whole experience must be for someone her age. We all dreamed of being a rock star at one point or another as little girls and she has done it and done it very well.
