Back to School With Crocs

When my friend George from Crocs asked me to do a blog post for the about back to school and help promote the Crocs new line of back to school footwear (which I saw in Chicago and they are fantastic), I was more than happy to help him out because he has helped me out many times since I started my blog last November. So, here is my post about what back to school is going to mean to me this year.
”Back to school” three little words that can bring on such a wide variety of strong emotions for so many parents. Normally I am in the camp dancing around and singing “It’s the most wonderful time of the year” like they do in the Staples commercials. Summer is great, we join the pool, the kids all swim on the swim team, we travel, we stay up late watching movies and eating popcorn, but let’s face it 4 siblings can only spend so much time together in a small house before they completely drive each other and their parents crazy! Not to mention it becomes very tiring constantly trying to find things to keep them busy enough not to kill each other.
This year is a little different, although I am ready for a little peace and quiet and some me time, I am a little sad this year to see it all begin. 3 of my 4 children are making huge transitions in their school careers this year.

Kuru Shoes Make My Feet Happy

When I am not looking for a great bag I am probably shoe shopping! I am always on the look out for a great pair of comfy shoes.
I happened to be on twitter one day when I saw Kuru Shoes was looking for bloggers to try out their shoes at Blogher and see what they thought. I responded and much to my excitement they sent me a pair of these

This is the Women’s Chicane style in chocolate. They retail for $89.97 and they are worth every penny! (although I did receive them for free I would definitely pay that much for them.) You can see the rest of Kuru’s line for women here.
Kuru Shoes are perfect for anyone who has foot problems. Every pair of Kuru Shoes have the patient pending KuruSole. Nature designed your foot to cushion the body. Underneath your heel bone is a fat pad that cushions the impacts of each step. This pad acts like a shock absorber for your heel and skeletal structure. Other active footwear has a flat footbed which flattens the fat pad and damages the tissue. As you age, this damage becomes more pronounced resulting in foot pain, lower back pain and other health-related problems. The KuruSole technology is designed to reduce this damage and pain. KuruSole construction promises orthopedic support for your active lifestyle.
I was interested in trying Kuru Shoes because I am always on my feet running somewhere with somebody, the grocery store, the ball field or taking walks around the block. I tried my shoes the day I traveled to BlogHer in Chicago. I was up at 6 am and off to the airport. I walked A LOT at the Pittsburgh as well as Chicago airports, took the train to the city, which resulted in me having to climb a few flights of steps to and from the train. Once I checked into the hotel Beth and I decided we needed to eat lunch and we wanted to see some of Chicago. Poor Beth , I dragged her around for several hours and many city blocks! We got back to the hotel around 3 pm to get ready for the evening. I sat down to take off my shoes and realized much to my delight my feet felt fantastic! I barley felt like I walked down the hotel hallway let alone around 2 airports, a city subway and downtown Chicago for hours. I was thrilled, unfortunately Beth was not so thrilled, she ended up with sore feet and a broken toenail
When I got back from Chicago I gave the shoes to my mom to try. She had an injury 11 years ago that left her with plates in her ankle as well as severe neuropathy in both of her legs. She must always wear shoes, she cannot walk with out a cane, and when she does walk she can only make it around the house comfortably for a few hours. She tried the Kuru Shoes and was able to walk around the house for the better part of the day without much discomfort. She was shocked at how well the shoes supported her feet and muscles in her legs. Now I have a problem, I have to try to wrangle the shoes off of her so I can have them back!
These shoes are going to be perfect for me this fall and winter as I enter into soccer season and lots of hours volunteering at the concession stand!
So, now you know you want to try a pair right???? Go to Kuru’s website and when you check out use the code CRAFTYMAMA10 and receive 10% off your purchase. This code is good until September 30, 2009
