I am not particually germ a phobic, but there are a few things that really wig me out when it comes to germs and one of them is the toilet brush.  Just think about it, you clean your gross toilet brush around all the germs and then put the brush in a holder in your bathroom for the germs to breed in the holder. Why? It’s even worse if you have smaller children because for some unknown reason toddlers are fasicinated by toilet brushes, I have often found mine on my living room carpet...
